FLEXO IN EDUCATION AWARENESS
LUNCHEON SCHEDULED FOR 2006 FTA FORUM
Purpose:
kick off 10 years celebration for PC Challenge
College competition
During the 2006 FTA Forum in Louisville, Ky., this May, the Phoenix Challenge
Foundation and the Foundation of the Flexographic Technical Association (FFTA)
will hold a special Flexo in Education awareness luncheon, according to Bettylyn
Krafft, chairman of the Phoenix Challenge Foundation and Mark Cisternino,
president of the FFTA.
Slated to take place on Monday, May 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the
Kentucky International Convention Center, Louisville, Ky., the luncheon’s
purpose is to increase awareness of and raise funds for the Phoenix Challenge
Foundation’s educational endeavors.
“We’ll kick off the Phoenix Challenge High School Flexo Competition’s 10th
birthday year at the luncheon, and celebrate the Phoenix Challenge Foundation’s
expansion into more projects to further flexo education,” said Krafft. “This
year, we’re working on making a new table top corrugated press a reality for
educational use, creating a standard flexo curriculum, expanding the annual
Phoenix Challenge to create a college competition, as well as working on online
training for students. We need to spread the word about the great things our
foundation is doing, and raise the funds to support all of these endeavors.”
Cisternino commented, “The Phoenix Challenge performs an unusual service for our
entire industry by introducing and training young people for rewarding careers
in flexography. The FTA is a strong supporter and proud associate of this unique
volunteer organization. It’s incredibly important that we all support the
Phoenix Challenge Foundation with our time and treasure. In short, we all
benefit from its work.”
