Ron Harper`s Book “The Harder I Work, The Luckier I Get”

Nets Dollars For The Phoenix Challenge Foundation 

Charlotte, NC  - The Flexographic Technical Association, Ronkonkoma, NY,  offers Ron Harper’s book, “The Harder I Work, The Luckier I Get”, to benefit their Flexo In High Schools/Colleges Program. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of the book will be used for flexographic education, according to association president, Mark Cisternino. The FTA is selling the book for approximately 20% off the list price of $21.50. The net price for the hard bound book is $18, which includes shipping and handling, through December 31, 2004. Sales have been brisk following introduction of the book in July 2004.

 The Phoenix Challenge October 2004 Fundraising Luncheon raised $494 in thirty minutes through the sale of signed copies. All funds generated from book sales at the luncheon were designated by the FTA to be used for the annual high school competition, according to Chairman Bettylyn Krafft.

 Early reviews have been very positive. One reader wrote, “I left Monday on a trip to Anaheim. I started reading the book on the first leg of a flight from Memphis to Denver and could not put it down. I finished the book at 7:23 PM that night in Anaheim. I read the whole book in one day.” A second reader said, “All in all, I would say it is a very easy-to-read book, flows very nicely and I really enjoyed reading it!  The author’s honesty and integrity cover all the pages”.

 Harper wrote about his challenges and accomplishments in the business world, the importance of giving back to the industry, his reflections on life, the balancing of marriage and work during the past 52 years, his experiences as a 17 year old Marine and his struggles and shortcomings as a young child. He wrote the book to leave a legacy for his children and grandchildren, but was encouraged to make it available to the industry, which he agreed to do through the FTA.
