2005 PHOENIX CHALLENGE FLEXO COMPETITION

Both Joe Tuccitto, Dunwoody College of Technology, Minneapolis, MN, and Jerry Howell, Fort Mill High School, Fort Mill, SC, received Special Service Awards at the recent Phoenix Challenge Banquet, according to Chairman Bettylyn Krafft.

Joe was given special recognition for his developmental work with the foundation’s website: phoenixchallenge.org, and for his work with the FTA Operator Certification Program. Through Joe’s efforts Dunwoody received the “Harper Flexo College of the Year” award two of the past four years.

Jerry was active in the founding of the Phoenix Challenge competition in 1998, while building the flexographic printing program at Central Piedmont Community College, which later became the Harper National Flexographic Center. He is also credited with helping to establish hands-on flexo programs in several high schools in both North and South Carolina.

Bettylyn said, “Both men have indeed gone above and beyond the call of duty and have exceeded the expectations of their flexo associates many times over the past 10 years.”
